Easy-to-browse landing page helps students navigate the complex world of financing a college education 

CHALLENGE: Make it easier for students and prospects to find information about financing a college education, without having to dig through multiple web pages.

SOLUTION: Design an one-stop-shopping portal landing page that curates key financial aid messages for current and prospective Walla Walla University students.

Make it interactive and visually compelling with the use of graphics, call-outs, captions, subheads and images and offer readers visual cues that help them easily browse the content to find that which most interests them.

To avoid duplication of core content on two sites, use this as the entry portal and link back to the school's financial aid web pages, where deeper content resides.

Drive traffic using e-letters, the university's website and social media channels, and a print piece that can be mailed or handed out at recruiting events.

RESULT: The page's design supports the message strategy outlined by the client and makes a content-rich topic accessible and interesting. At the end of year one, the site was attracting new and repeat parent- and student-aged users who were spending more than 3 minutes on the page and clicking on the call to action links, interactive tools, and videos. Low bounce rates and high scroll-through rates indicated high levels of engagement, and new features will continue to be added to bring value to viewers.
